Volunteers for Seniors

By volunteering to help seniors, CSAs will gain a broader understanding of the issues older adults face - and learn more about the organizations available to help seniors and their families.

  • CSA CE credit hours: One hour of volunteer work earns 1 hour of CSA CE credit.
Providing direct care for a senior relative or family member can be included as volunteer experience for up to half of the maximum of 9 allowed credits - 4.5 credits.
  • Reporting your volunteer hours: Members must track the number of volunteer hours they work, including dates, times, names of the organizations and individual contact names. SCSA will randomly audit members’ volunteer records every year.

For your convenience, use this form: Record Your CSA CE Volunteer Hours for Seniors. (This form is a PDF file. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view this file.)
